Core Experience:

• 4 years of medical billing and prior auth experience
• Oncology experience
• EMR knowledge (AdvancedMD or Mckesson) – preferred
• High School Diploma
• Must complete medical screenings

A Day in the Role:

• Verifies insurance and registration data for scheduled outpatient/inpatient encounters and scheduled surgeries
• Reviews encounter forms for accuracy.
• May be responsible for obtaining pre-certification for scheduled surgeries and admissions.
• Enters office, inpatient, and/or outpatient charges with accurate data entry of codes.
• Ensures charges are entered/processed in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Posts denials on a timely basis.
• Posts all payments as appropriate in the billing system.
• Works daily Accounts Receivable accounts via online work file and/or hard-copy reports; checks claims status, re-submits claims, and writes appeal letters.

Work Environment:

• Monday-Thursday – 7:45am-5:15pm
• Fridays – 7:45am-12pm; Every 3rd Friday they will stay until 3pm
